PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material reclaimed from wastepaper which can effectively utilize wastepaper and waste fiber and also can be produced at a low cost by a simple method, and to provide a method for producing the same material. SOLUTION: This material is produced by mixing reclaimed pulp from wastepaper as a raw material with single fiber-like or small lump-like reusable fiber obtained by subjecting waste fiber to opening to prepare a fiber suspension, by dewatering the fiber suspension to form a fiber layer and then by drying the fiber layer to form interfiber bonding. Thereby, the material possessing decorativeness based on a peculiar pattern and functionality such as elasticity and a heat retaining property is formed.
