[Also in Division H2] Electrodes are secured to an electricallyconducting silicone elastomer coating on a lamina by an electrically-conductive acrylic adhesive. The electrodes may be in the form of metal foil, gauze, braid or wire (e.g. tinael wire) and may be of aluminium, copper or steel. The silicone rubber is coated on a lamina in the form of a film or a woven, knitted, or felted fabric made of cellulose, nylon, polythene terephthalate, paper or asbestos. The acrylic adhesive consists of a polyacrylate, a polymethacrylate or a copolymer and may be applied to the electrodes in the form of an aqueous latex dispersion or in a solution of ethylene dichloride, trichloroethylene, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, or ethyl acetate. The adhesive is applied to the electrodes prior to their attachment to the silicone elastomer by spraying, painting, dipping or by the use of transfer rolls. The adhesive coated electrodes are secured to the elastomer by pressure or heat and pressure in a press or by passing through nip rollers. Metal particles, acetylene black or carbon black is dispersed in the adhesive to render it conducting. The elastomer may be covered with p.v.c. foil. The heating element may be used as a wall covering or may be incorporated in a ceiling tile.</p>
