PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain treated water suitable for tap water without using sand filteration, precise filtration or ultrafiltration. SOLUTION: An inorganic flocculant is added to and mixed with raw water in a flocculation tank 14 and this raw water is filtered by a long fiber filter 20. The filtered water is further filtered in a metal membrane filter 32. After the greater part of a suspended substance is removed in long fiber filtration after flocculation, the filtered water is filtered by a metal filter with a predetermined pore size to efficiently obtain desired treated water quality.
