PURPOSE: A method for preparing mixed tea containing powdered extract of Cascara Sagrada is provided. This tea is increased in soluble components of Cascara Sagrada prepared as a powdered extract through extracting, concentrating and spray-drying processes and is also improved in active principles and taste by mixing Malva Verticillata Linne, Camellia Sinensis, Cassia Tora L, Polygonatum sp or brown rice with the powdered extract. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the following steps of: i) extracting Cascara Sagrada by water or ethyl alcohol; ii) concentrating the Cascara Sagrada extract by a vacuum concentrator; iii) spray-drying the concentrate to prepare powdered extract; iv) granulating the powdered extract by spraying a binder selected from dextrin 30-50wt.% water solution(w/w), gelatin 5-15wt.% water solution(w/w) or Arabic gum 10-30wt.% water solution(w/w); v) mixing the powdered extract 10-80wt.% with at least two herbs selected from Malva Verticillata Linne 10-30wt.%, Camellia Sinensis 10-30wt.%, Cassia Tora L 10-30wt.%, Polygonatum sp 10-30wt.% or brown rice 10-30wt.%; and vi) packing the mixture in a filter paper.
