摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring a signal to interference ratio for controlling a power in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier are provided to control a forward power in the communication system using the multi-carrier by measuring an interference power and a signal power according to a carrier and a finger to calculate the signal to interference ratio and comparing the calculated signal to interference ration with a reference signal to power ratio to provide information for a power control. CONSTITUTION: An interference power measuring unit(100) performs a Walsh despreading of a receiving signal PN-despreaded by each carrier and each finger according to an I and Q channel to measure an interference power of the receiving signal, and adds interference powers measured by each carrier and each finger. A signal power measuring unit(200) performs the Walsh despreading of the receiving signal PN-despreaded by each carrier and each finger according to the I and Q channel to measure a signal power of the receiving signal, and adds signal powers measured by each carrier and each finger. A signal to interference ratio calculating unit(300) calculates a signal to interference ratio according to output signals of the interference power measuring unit(100) and the signal power measuring unit(200), and compares the calculated signal to interference ratio with a reference signal to interference ratio to output data to be transmitted to a base station.
