PURPOSE: A smart road traffic signal lamp is provided which appropriately maintains traffic signals using a sensor to make traffic flow smooth, to prevent traffic jam and reduce fuel consumption due to stopping. CONSTITUTION: A smart road traffic signal lamp monitors vehicles on the road at a crossroad to maintain a signal for allowing vehicles currently traveling to proceed when there are barely vehicles, thereby smoothing the flow of vehicles and reducing fuel consumption. When pedestrians wait for the green light at the crossroad, the smart traffic signal lamp senses the pedestrians to change the signal to allow the pedestrians to cross the road.
