METHOD FOR REMOVING NITRATE NITROGEN AND NITRITE NITROGEN IN RIVER SYSTEM BY USING METAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING IRON SCRAP AND ALUMINUM SCRAP AND EQUIPMENT THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for removing nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen in river system by using a metal composition containing iron scrap and aluminum scrap is provided, which can denitrify effectively contaminants contained in wastewater of leather industry, livestock farming, fertilizer plant and sewage disposal plant without continuous supply of organic carbon source like the biological treatment using microorganism. CONSTITUTION: The method is as follows: (i) feed a metal composition containing iron scrap and aluminum scrap into reactor and acid wash the metal composition by hydrochloric acid; (ii) remove the hydrochloric acid and wash by water for adjusting pH to return to the pH before the acid wash; and (iii) fill the metal composition that is water washed to a reaction tank (3) and feed contaminated water to the reaction tank (3) through an inlet (2) at the bottom for denitrifying, the treated water being adjusted to 6-8 of pH and discharged through an outlet (6) at the top.
