PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device which is possible to mount a bearing and give a preload thereto at the place where a space available for installation is restricted and a strength degradation is able to be restrained while maintaining a wall thickness in radial direction of a lock nut and a anti- loosening measure is easy to be applied. SOLUTION: The lock nut 3 which presses an inner ring 11 of a rolling bearing 10 in axial direction is threadably engaged with a shaft 1 which is screw-threaded externally. The lock nut 3 has a locking groove 4 formed by a radial recess on the end face thereof. A locking piece 6 is engaged across the locking groove 4 and an engaging slot 1d formed by longitudinal groove on the outer diameter surface of the shaft 1. The locking piece 6 is securely fixed by a set screw into a tapped hole 5 formed on the end face of the lock nut 3 on the side of the locking groove 4.
