PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball bearing makes possible to restrain a backlash in axial direction and to prevent bearing damage with shoulders being rode on. SOLUTION: The ball bearing can restrain the axial backlash by closely fitting bottoms 6a and 7a of raceway surfaces 6 and 7 of inner and outer rings 1 and 2 with a ball 3 wherein a radius curvature Ri1 (R01) of the central bottoms 6a and 7a taken axially of the raceway surfaces 6 and 7 of the inner ring 1 and outer ring 2 is set as 50.1 to 51.5% of the diameter of ball 3, that is, set as equal approximately to the radius of ball 3. Further, by setting a radius of curvature Ri3 (R03) of both edges 6b, 6c and 7b, 7c taken axially of the raceway surfaces 6 and 7 as 52 to 54% of the diameter of ball 3, that is, as larger than the radius of curvature Ri1 (R01) of the bottom 6a and 7a of the raceways, the ball 3 is prevented from being rode onto the shoulders by deviating from the raceway surfaces 6 and 7 to the axial direction and the bearing damage can be prevented.
