PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of exactly controlling to write control data correspondingly to increasing speed for writing and reading data on/from an optical disk. SOLUTION: SQ channel data created by DSP 3 are inputted to a gate array 5; CRC error detection, data characteristics detection, and BCD check are performed by a data judgment processing means; the data based on the detection and check are recorded in a register; relative time data and absolute time data are converted into information units of blocks by a data conversion processing means and recorded in a register; based on the data in the register on a CPU 6 to be updated by these data, control data are written on the optical disk by the CPU 6; and thus, it is possible to eliminate the need for signal transmission and reception for data judgment processing and data conversion processing between the CPU 6 and the DSP 3, and the CPU 6 is less burdened with a load for signal processing, and it becomes possible to exactly and swiftly perform high-speed reading control of the control data onto an optical disk without malfunction.
