摘要 PURPOSE: A method of surface treatment of a position ring is provided to ensure smooth lubrication in an initial stage of engine operation by treating solid lubricant on the surface of a piston ring. CONSTITUTION: A piston ring is washed to keep the surface thereof clean. Solid lubricant of MOS2, graphite, carbon, WS2 is crushed into granules of 300 to 500 mesh. Crushed solid lubricant is mixed into an organic solvent to prepare a coating agent. The coating agent is coated on the surface of the piston ring several times till obtaining the thickness of a coating layer of 1 to 150 micron. The surface of the piston ring is heated at 100 to 400deg.C for 30 to 180 minutes to bind the coated coating agent. A lubricant coat is formed on the surface of the piston ring for imparting smooth lubrication to the piston ring in contacting an inner wall of a cylinder. Abrasion of the piston ring is minimized to prolong the life time of an engine.
