PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor giving a stable good image even after repeated use. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by laminating a middle layer and a photosensitive layer in this order on an electrically conductive substrate, the middle layer consists essentially of a metal oxide and a bonding resin and has a concentration gradient in such a way that the content of the metal oxide is made higher on the substrate side.
