PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory camera system that can automatically conduct focus adjustment in response to a distance up to an object at an image pickup position at a low cost when changing an image pickup direction. SOLUTION: When installing a supervisory camera main body 11 on a rotary base 13 on a camera pole P, a CPU 21 calculates a distance L up to the image pickup position on the basis of a rotating angleθ1 by the rotary base 13 and an installation height H up to an optical axis of the supervisory camera main body 11 set in advance in a memory 22 and adjusts the focus of the supervisory camera main body 11 on the basis of the calculation result L.
