PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for developing a silver halide color photographic sensitive material by which its sensitivity, graininess, color reproducibility and photographing latitude are ensured even if the layer arrangement of the sensitive material is altered and development is accelerated. SOLUTION: A photosensitive material having red-, green- and blue-sensitive silver halide photosensitive layers each comprising unit emulsion layers having the same spectral sensitivity region and different from each other in sensitivity and having layer arrangement in which the highest sensitivity red-sensitive unit emulsion layer and the highest sensitivity green-sensitive unit emulsion layer are situated farther from the base than the lowest sensitivity red-sensitive unit emulsion layer and the lowest sensitivity green-sensitive unit emulsion layer, respectively, is developed with a color developing agent containing at least 1.8×10-2 mol/l color developing agent and a gradation adjuster.
