The circuit 213 selects a luminance signal Y2b and a color signal C2 sampled with the frequency of a clock CLK2 and supplied the signals Y2b and C2 to the converters 220 and 221 when reproduction is performed. The clock CLK2 is selected with the switch 214 and supplied to the converters 220 and 221. Thus, it is unnecessary to provide the D/A converters for the signals to be outputted to a monitor, etc., in a recording mode and the D/A converters for the signals to be outputted to the monitor, etc., in reproduction separately.
