PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sound quality from being deteriorated by an error, by changing over to single-speed dubbing from the track head where the error occurred when an error occurs during high-speed dubbing. SOLUTION: A CD reproducing device performs quadruple speed reproduction and records the reproduced signal on an MD. Quadruple speed dubbing is started and proper dubbing is performed on the 1st and 2nd tracks. When it is judged that an error has occurred during dubbing the 3rd track, the CD reproducing device returns the reproducing position back to the leading head of the 3rd track, and waits in a pause state. An MD recording and reproducing device erases the 3rd track in which the erroneous data has been recorded, and waits in a recording pause state prepared for recording to the 3rd track. Next, the quadruple speed dubbing is changed over to the single speed dubbing and the dubbing is performed from the head of the 3rd track. The audio data in the 4th track is also dubbed at a single speed.
