PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high contrast silver halide photographic sensitive material for X-ray mammography excellent in diagnostic ability and having good scuffing and wear resistances and good resistance to the leaving of a fingerprint, a processing method for the sensitive material and an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material with at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and an upper non- photosensitive colloidal layer on one face of the base and a backing layer on the other face, spherical polymer particles having <=10% relative standard deviation of particle diameter are contained in the non-photosensitive colloidal layer and >=50% of the total projected area of all silver halide grains in the at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is occupied by flat platy silver halide grains having an aspect ratio of 3-30 doped with ions of at least one metal selected from Rh, Ru, Re and Os.
