摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic shaft in which the movability of an outer shaft towards the front of a vehicle is improve in case of collapse at a secondary collision. SOLUTION: A resin is packed in a recess 3 formed on a male spline fitting section 1a of an inner shaft 1 through a filling part 4 formed in a female spline section 2a of an outer shaft and, as a result, a resin sliding area 5 is formed between the fitting sections 1a and 2a of the shafts 1 and 2. A ring 6 made of resin is put on the inner periphery of a tip of the female spline fitting section 2a of the outer shaft 2, and, in case of collapse at the secondary collision, even when the tip portion of the outer shaft 2 is left out of the male spline fitting section 1a of the inner shaft 1, the tip portion of the outer shaft 2 is able to move smoothly towards the front of the vehicle, as the ring 6 made of resin is allowed to slide over the outer periphery surface of smaller diameter section 1b of the inner shaft 1.
