PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an I/O device control system corresponding to a network which prevents needless power loss by prompting an operator to manually power off through voice message at termination of network computer use if the operator fails to power off the I/O device. SOLUTION: For instance, when only PC2 and PRN are powered in a networked system consisting of five PCs (PC1-PC5) and a printer (PRN), and then only PC2 is powered off, a communication command such as Pimg, etc., is used by PC2 to check whether PC1-PC5 and PRN are powered or powered off (S12). At that point of time, because PCs excluding PC2 are powered off, PC2 is determined to be the final user (S13; Y), and the printer sends out a voice message such as 'Please power off this printer', etc. (S14) The operator will hear the voice message and power off the printer, thereby making it possible to prevent needless power loss. |
