PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a photographic result congenial to photographer's taste without depending upon perception of the photographer in the case of setting exposure correction. SOLUTION: When setting of the extent of exposure correction will be changed, a reproduced picture, based on picture data obtained by photographing before this setting change is displayed on a monitor 6. The display lightness of the reproduced picture displayed on the monitor 6 is controlled correspondingly to a set extent of exposure correction in accordance with photographer's setting of the extent of exposure correction. The photographer sees the displayed reproduced picture to discriminate which photographic result can be obtained with the set extent of exposure correction.
