PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for holding and mounting a part, which can detect a state of mounting at the position every time a part is mounted on a body to which the part is mounted, and a method therefor. SOLUTION: This device has an optical detector 1081 and a control unit 104, detects light which is applied to a circuit board 12 from a light source 1071 by the optical detector, and judges from the detection results whether or not an electronic part 11 is held in good conditions by a part holding member 111 and whether or not the part is mounted in good conditions on the circuit board. Therefore, every time the electric board is mounted on the circuit board, in the state where the part holding member is arranged at a part placing position, it is possible to detect the state where the part is held by the part holding member and the state where the part is mounted on a body to which the part is mounted. |
