PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance earth removal performance by forming a spiral blade over the total length of an excavating rod, and to level a pile hole wall by a kneading sticking means arranged on the outer periphery of the spiral blade. SOLUTION: A spiral belt 7 composed of an elastic material is installed along the outer periphery 3 of the spiral blade 2 of a rod body 5 to be formed as a pile hole excavating rod 10. The spiral blade 2 and the spiral belt 7 are connected and fixed via a spring 12. Next, an excavating head 15 of the pile hole excavating rod 10 is projected from a hollow pile 17 to excavate a pile hole shaft part 24 (a). The spiral belt 7 bends, and is broken upward to be housed in the hollow pile 17. The spiral blade 2 has high earth removal capacity since it continues up to an upper part. While leveling a hole wall 22 by projecting the spiral belt 7 below the hollow pile 17, an expansive bottom part 25 of the pile hole shaft part 24 is excavated (b) (c). After completing excavation, the pile hole excavating rod 10 is pulled up, and the hollow pile 17 is lowered up to a prescribed position (d) (e). The spiral belt 7 bends, and is folded up downward to be pulled up in the hollow pile 17.
