摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an actual fuel injection quantity in a required fuel quantity. SOLUTION: Fuel injection valves 20 respectively arranged in plural cylinders are connected to a common rail 21. Main injection and sub-injection are performed from the respective fuel injection valves 20 in one combustion cycle of the respective cylinders. The fuel injection timing of the main injection and the sub-injection of the respective cylinders is respectively calculated on the basis of an engine operation state. Order of precedence of the fuel injection is decided in order of the main injection, post-injection, pilot injection for forming an ignition source, pilot injection for forming an air-fuel premixture and injection for supplying HC. When the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection of one cylinder and the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection of the other cylinder overlap each other, the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection subordinate in order of precedence is changed without changing the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection superordinate in order of precedence so that these fuel injection timing do not overlap each other.
