PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new fabric pattern by sewing a material paper, allowing the resultant paper to absorb water, rubbing the surface of the resultant product by a brush to cut off a part of the surface, and subjecting the rubbed material to thermocompression forming. SOLUTION: One or superposed plural sheets of tissue paper or Japanese paper having high water absorptivity (the material paper) are sewed by a sewing machine by using a machine sewing thread as the thread to sew a core thread for forming the pattern of a product. The material paper sewed by the machine sewing thread is dipped in water, and the dipped material paper is rubbed by the brush to cut off a part of the surface. The rubbed material paper is heated, pressed and dried by an iron or the like. As a result a part of the material paper is twisted, a part thereof is cut off to provide vacancy, and a part thereof attaches to the sewed machine sewing thread at random. An effect of perforations is added thereto and the objective new fabric pattern is formed. The fabric pattern paper formed thereby has the strength of the paper and the strength of the thread, and further has beautiful new expression.
