METHOD OF CONTROLLING POPCORN COOKING IN MICROWAVE OVEN

PURPOSE: A control method of popcorn cooking in a microwave oven is provided to enhance convenience of a user by automatically cooking various popcorn through single operation of a function key without inputting the weight of popcorn. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer generates microwaves from a magnetron and rotates a turntable when a user puts popcorn in a cavity of a microwave oven and starts a popcorn mode. The microcomputer collects, adds data detected from a cooking sensor and saves the data in a memory. If the turntable is rotated once, the microcomputer obtains difference between the initial data sum(S0) and the first data sum(S1) and checks if the difference is larger than 3. If so, the microcomputer increases the number(a) of difference value(M1) larger than 3. The microcomputer decides twice rotation of the turntable. The microcomputer obtains difference between the first sum(S1) and the second data sum(S2) and checks if the value is larger than 3. The other processes are performed in the same method until the microcomputer checks 5 rotation of the turntable. After that, the microcomputer counts the number(a) of difference values(M1-M5) larger than 3 from the sum values(S0-S5). If the number is smaller than 3, the microcomputer decides the popcorn having small size. Therefore, the microcomputer stops the magnetron and finishes the cooking mode.
