PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head slider which enables further reducing the attraction between the surface opposite to the medium of magnetic disk side of a slider main body and the magnetic disk without exerting adverse influence on the floatation. SOLUTION: This magnetic head slider S is featured in that a crown is formed on side rails 12, 12 disposed on both marginal part sides of the surface opposite to the medium of the slider main body 10 provided with a magnetic head core 11, the side rails 12, 12 are made in such a manner that the width of inflow side 10a of air flow is larger than the width of the outflow side 10b of the air flow, a groove is formed between both of the side rails 12, 12, projections 17 of one or more are respectively disposed on both sides near the inflow side 10a of the air flow of respective side rails 12 and/or near the inflow side 10a of the air flow of the groove and the respective projections 17 are projected to the side of the magnetic disk 71 rather than the side rails 12.
