PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a painted washer capable of visually indicating a bolt or nut used in buildings or architectural products that has not been tightened and of preventing tightening of bolts and nuts from being neglected. SOLUTION: This washer is coated with a paint 3 comprising nonvolatile resin mixed, at a specified ratio with grease, wax, metallic soap and other chemicals to give brittleness to the paint. When a bolt 2 or nut is fully tightened after temporarily tightening, the paint 3 coated on the washer 1 is peeled off by a prescribed tightening force thus visually checking at a distance that the bolt 2 or nut is completely tightened.
