PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit a remarkable effect particularly when used to construct a shaft having a large diameter and a long depth in a shaft excavating method capable of safely and efficiently executing excavating work on the hole bottom side and lining work on the upper side by parallel work. SOLUTION: A work area is divided into the hole bottom side and the upper side by a movable separating floor 2 arranged in a position sufficiently separate from a hole bottom 7. Excavating and temporary lining work are performed in a hole bottom side excavating work area 3. A moving form 5 is arranged on a temporarily lined shaft inner wall surface in an upper side lining work area 4 to perform the lining work for constructing lining concrete 6 to parallelly perform simultaneous construction work in both work areas 3, 4.
