The invention concerns an instrumented antifriction bearing device, provided with a non-rotating part comprising a non-rotating ring (2) and sensor means (14), a rotating part comprising a rotating ring (1) and encoding means (16), and at least a row or rolling bodies (6) arranged between two raceways of the non-rotating (2) and the rotating (4) rings. The non-rotating sensing means (14) and the rotating encoding means (16) form an assembly detecting rotation parameters. The device comprises means for temporarily maintaining the angular indexing of the encoding means (16) relative to the sensing means (14), in an angular position wherein said encoding means (16) generates in the sensing means (14) a reference signal, the means temporarily maintaining the angular indexing means being released by the axial displacement of at least part of an element of the device towards the row of rolling bodies.
