PURPOSE: A receipt control device and a method of a portable handset is provided to be capable of remarkably enhancing the convenience of users by rapidly blocking receipt informing such call sound or vibration even though only a portion of a body is contacted with the portable handset. CONSTITUTION: A signal receiver(21) receives externally transferred RF signals. A call sound generator(23) generates call sound of predetermined volume. A sensor(26) senses whether a body of a user is contacted with a portion of the portable handset. A controller(27) controls the call sound generator(23) so that the call sound isn't generated in accordance with the body contact status through the sensor(26) or RF receipt status through the signal receiver(21). A display(24) informs the receipt status through lamp flickering. A vibrator(22) generates vibration signals.
