PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM demodulator circuit which can deal with noises in a tape and the like deteriorated in quality by detecting FM signal distortion before demodulation and forecasting noises caused by the demodulation distortion. SOLUTION: The FM demodulator circuit is provided with a limiter 3, to which a reproduction signal is inputted, and a demodulator 4 which is connected to the output side of the limiter. The FM demodulation circuit is provided with a distortion detector for detecting the distortion of output signals of the limiter 3, preceding to the input into the demodulator 4.
