PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a motor-driven compressor. SOLUTION: Curves E1, E2, E3, E4 express changes of load torque of a rotary shaft 16 corresponding to compressive reaction force from a compression chamber in respective cylinder bores 131, 132, 133, 134. A curve Eo expresses composite change torque where the load torque expressed by the curves E1, E2, E3, E4 is composed. An exciting control device C1 supplies alternating current AC1 to coils 21A, 21B, 21C, 21D. A curve F1 expresses driving torque of a motor 10 generated by supplying the alternating current AC1 to the coils 21A, 21B, 21C, 21D. Parts indicated as 31A, 31B, 31C, 31D in figures shown are magnets on a rotor 30 side.
