PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance performance of a host computer by improving data transfer efficiency against a printed circuit board for a print engine and releasing the host computer from an image print-out job as short as possible. SOLUTION: Between a buffer memory (HDD115) and the printed circuit board for the print engine 12, there is installed a direct transfer control unit 100 which is capable of fetching a rasterized data directly from the buffer memory and transmitting it in synchronization with a transfer clock on the print engine. Every time when a transfer request is generated by the print engine 12, the direct transfer control unit transfers the rasterized data to the print engine in synchronization with its transfer clock cycle. Then, the data fetched from the buffer memory is immediately stored onto the FIFO buffer 10 after being cleared to spaces by transferring its data to the print engine.
