PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage type combustor in which clogging of a heat storage body with nugget is suppressed when a heat storage type burner is applied to a shaft furnace for melting copper. SOLUTION: This heat storage type combustor comprises at least a pair of storage type burners Br having a burner section 1 provided with a fuel nozzle 2 and a heat storage chamber 4 containing a heat storage body 5 wherein combustion air is fed through the chamber to one burner and combusted while combustion exhaust gas is sucked or exhausted alternately from or into the other burner through the chamber. A perforated panel 8 is disposed at the heat storage body containing section of the chamber on the high temperature side thereof, a first scraper insertion opening 10 for scraping off matters adhering to the surface of the perforated panel is provided in the casing 6 of the chamber and an opening 11 for discharging the scraped matters is provided below the perforated panel.
