PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling usable for long time without lubricating by imparting a lubricating function to the coupling itself. SOLUTION: This coupling 10 has a pair of sprockets 12, 12 secured to a shaft, and a transmission member 16 meshing with external teeth 14 of the sprockets 12, 12. A lube-containing material 18 is disposed between the opposite surfaces of the sprockets. The lube-containing material 18 is fitted in its outer periphery to a circular-arc recessed part of the inner plate. The lube-containing material 18 is fitted to the inner plate 20 to regulate the relative movement in the rotating direction of the lube-containing material 18 and the transmission member 16, and with rotation of the sprockets 12, 12, the lube-containing material 18 is forcedly rotated. Lubricant contained in the lube-containing material 18 is gradually oozed out by centrifugal force to form an lube film between chain component parts, thereby giving suitable lubricating effect to the component parts.
