PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a downsized battery-type light-source device where a boosting circuit is effectively arranged. SOLUTION: The light-source device body 3a comprises a lamp-housing room 81 that houses a lamp 41, a circuit-housing room 82 that houses a substrate 50A mounting a boosting circuit 50 that boosts a power-source voltage fed from a battery 42 and a substrate 60A mounting a battery-residual amount indicating circuit 60 that indicates the residual amount in the battery by lighting a group of LED 33, and a battery-housing room 83 that houses the battery 42. The circuit-housing room 82 is formed in a L-shape extending over the upper part and the side part of the battery-housing room 83, and the substrate 50A mounting the boosting circuit 50 is arranged at the upper part thereof. At the side part thereof, the substrate 60A mounting the battery-residual amount indicating circuit 60 is arranged. The substrate 50A and the substrate 60A are housed in the circuit-housing room 82 so as to cross with each other.
