PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with correction of a conversion table, even if a telephone number and an electronic mail address are changed, and to deliver a transmitted document without time delay, even when transmission is finished erroneously. SOLUTION: A destination inquiry packet 40, including the telephone numbers 39 of terminals at transmitting destination, is transmitted to the Internet 9 by a facsimile terminal (described as terminal hereafter) A2, the telephone numbers 39 and electronic mail addresses 38 of the terminals received from each terminal in the case of power-on the terminals are prepared as the conversion table 36 by a conversion server 8, the electronic mail addresses 38 corresponding to the telephone numbers 39 are retrieved and transmitted from the conversion table 36, by receiving the destination inquiry packet 40, the electronic mail addresses 38 are received via the Internet 9 by a terminal A2, image information is transmitted to the electronic mail addresses 38, the image information transmitted by the terminal A2 is received and recorded, via a mail server A7 and a mail server B11 by a terminal B13.
