PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse melting device which is constituted to obtain a stable reaction while a melting region (melting furnace) and a thermally decomposing region (thermally decomposing furnace) are independently controlled by separately arranging the regions so that the regions may not directly affect each other. SOLUTION: This refuse melting device is provided with the thermally decomposing furnace 1 which carbonizes refuse thrown in the furnace 1 from the upper part of the furnace 1 by thermally decomposing the refuse with an oxygen-free combustion gas G which is supplied to the furnace 1 as a thermally fluidized gas, and the melting furnace 2 which accepts the carbide C generated in the furnace 1 and melts the carbide C by burning the carbide C with a combustion assisting gas. In addition, a gas feeding path 21 which returns the oxygen-free combustion gas G generated in the melting furnace 2 to the thermal decomposing furnace 1 as the thermally fluidized gas is formed.
