PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear holding structure capable of surely holding a gear made of a resin, to a shaft with a simple structure at a low cost. SOLUTION: This gear holding structure 10 including a metallic shaft 12 and a resin gear 13 fixed and held on the shaft, has two polygonal washers 14, 15 for press fitting the shaft on its both axial end faces, one washer 14 is engaged with an engagement hole 13b formed on one end face of the and the other washer 15 is engaged with a free engagement hole 13c formed on the other end face of the gear.
