PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a planographic printing plate capable of obtaining an image having high resolution, adaptable to a direct imaging method with laser, capable of obtaining an image particularly even in a light room, producing no waste liquid, very excellent in ink/water responsiveness and less liable to the deterioration of suitability to printing with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the planographic printing plate in which a planographic printing original plate having a hydrophilic layer containing at least an inorganic oxide on the substrate, a thin silver film layer on the hydrophilic layer and, optionally, a hydrophilic polymer layer containing a hydrophobic compound on the thin silver film layer is exposed with laser light and the thin silver film layer is heated by the exposure to disclose the hydrophilic layer, the weight proportion of the inorganic oxide in the hydrophilic layer is specified. |
