<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply using an electric double layer capacitor with a significant voltage change, which can display an accurate remainder of charge and discharge time for the electric double layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The chargeable and dischargeable power supply with the electric double capacitor has a volt meter that measures voltages E1 and E2 at the first time t1 and the second time t2, and also has an arithmetic unit that calculates the time constant RC using a charge and discharge characteristic for the capacitor; E=E0(1-e-(t/RC)) or E=E0e-(t/RC). The arithmetic unit calculates a remainder time of the charge and discharge for the capacitor on the basis of the charge and discharge characteristic for the capacitor. The power supply also has a display device for displaying a calculated remainder time for the charge and the discharge. It is highly desirable to have a method that enables the power supply to extend its operating time.</p> |
