PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a squirrel-cage induction motor for high-speed revolutions that (1) allows high-speed revolutions by integrating a rotor structure to eliminate the local concentration of stress, (2) enables its efficiency to be enhanced by reducing eddy currents that occur on the surface of the rotor, and (3) enables its power factor to be improved by shortening the distance from the inside surface of a stator to a rotor core made of a magnetic material to lower ineffective magnetic flux over the distance. SOLUTION: A rotor 10 consists of a rotor core 12 and a rotor conductor 14. The rotor core 12 is made of a magnetically soft material having high magnetic permeability and a relatively low electric conduction rate, while the rotor conductor 14 of a conductive material that is low in the magnetic permeability and relatively high in the electric conduction rate. The rotor core 12 and the rotor conductor 14 are integrated with each other and the entire surface forms a smooth cylindrical surface. Furthermore, a stator 20 consists of a plurality of stator plates 22 stacked in the axial direction and stator windings 24. Each stator plate has an inside ring part 22a and an outside one 22b of a closed circle, and slots 23, through which the stator windings are stored, that are passed through between them.
