PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent troubles even when heated for mounting. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic relay comprises a core 1 wound with a coil 3 to have magnetic pole portions 1a at both ends, a permanent magnet 4 of which both ends for magnetizing the magnetic pole portions 1a, 1b of the core 1 have the same polarity and the central portion has different polarity from the both end, a contacting pole 5 supported on the central portion of the permanent magnet 4 so as to freely tilt in seesaw fashion with magnetic pole portions 5a being attracted to or released from the magnetic pole portions 1a of the core 1, a movable spring 6 having movable contacts 6a, 6b at both ends thereof with the central portion integrally attached to the contacting pole 5 along the longitudinal direction of the contacting pole 5, a base 9 having a stationary contact attracted to and released from the movable contacts 6a, 6b, and a box shaped case 10 having a ceiling portion 10a for covering the base 9 to surround the contacting pole 5 and the movable spring 6. The ceiling portion 10a has a thicker portion 10b following the contacting pole 5 when attracted to the core 1, which is arranged adjacent to the central portion than longitudinally both ends.
