PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confined energy type piezoelectric resonator capable of expanding the width of circuit constant selection, having excellent resonance characteristic and effectively suppressing the spurious caused by high harmonics. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric resonator is provided with a piezoelectric body 2 having a first face 2a and a second face 2b opposing each other, and a first driven electrode 3 and a second driven electrode 4 formed so as to overlap each other through the piezoelectric body. In the part of overlapping each other through the first driven electrode 3 and the second driven electrode 4, in the at least either one of the driven electrode 3 and 4, a electrode film 3e is partially formed, then the thickness of electrode becomes thick.
