PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high sensitivity silver halide photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material includes at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer containing silver halide grains having the spectral absorption maximum at <500 nm wavelength and a light absorption intensity of >=60 or the spectral absorption maximum at >=500 nm and a light absorption intensity of >=100 and spectrally sensitized with one or more compounds each having a fluorescent quantum yield of 0.2-1.0.
