PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underfloor container having excellent airtightness in spite of the usage of a cover in which at least two cover plates are connected by a hinge. SOLUTION: In the underfloor container in which receiving frames 3 are installed to the four peripheries 2 of a floor opening section in an airtight manner, the upper-end flange 4a of a housing 4 arranged to the lower section of the floor opening section is retained to the flange receiving sections 3c of the receiving frames 3 while a cover 5 is fitted to the floor opening section and the four peripheries of the cover are retained to the cover receiving sections 3b of the receiving frames 3 in the airtight manner, the cover 5 is constituted of at least two cover plates 5a, 5a mutually connected by hinges while an airtight sealing material 6 is stuck to either one or both of the mutually opposed cover-plate side faces in the connecting sections of these cover plates. The opening of the connecting sections of the cover plates 5a, 5a is closed by the airtight sealing material 6c, and airtightness is improved.
