PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive geared motor capable of high output, long service life and space saving when being mounted to equipment. SOLUTION: The geared motor is provided with an induction motor 1 and a reduction gear 2 housed in substantially rectangular parallepiped casings 2a, 2b. The axial dimension L of the casings 2a, 2b is set 30-40% of the diameter of the induction motor 1 or 20-30% of a casing short side, a casing long side L2 is 140-150% of the diameter of the induction motor 1 respectively, and the output shaft 5 of the reduction gear 2 is provided in the contrary direction to an input shaft 4.
