PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange receiving an incoming call that can provide a caller number display service, exactly similar to that of call reception from home and provide a CTI service, even if a phone user in a public phone network makes a call to a subscriber contained in the private branch exchange by using a public phone used by unspecified people or a telephone set at a visit place. SOLUTION: The private branch exchange, having a function of receiving a caller number of an incoming call from a public network, is provided with a means that receives and stores a caller number sent from a caller in a public network, a means for receiving an optical ID code for registration purpose to specify the caller, a database that registers caller numbers specific to respective callers and the ID codes in cross-reference with each other, and a means for displaying the caller number specific to the caller on a terminal receiving the call contained in the private branch exchange, by receiving the registered ID code in succession to the reception of the incoming call number from the public phone or the telephone set at a place of visit.
