METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SIMPLIFYING FAX TRANSMISSION BY USING USER ENCLOSURE AREA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device enabling a user to perform facsimile transmission without preliminarily having to transfer the facsimile number of a transmission destination in facsimile communication equipment. SOLUTION: Transmission is started in such a manner that the device makes dialing to the facsimile communication equipment of a receiver by using an enclosed number or name after the user encloses the facsimile number or name of the receiver. The device scans the first page or the cover of a document for facsimile transmission and detects the area enclosed by the user by using algorithm utilizing a computer. An image in the area enclosed by the user is extracted and optical character recognition is conducted to find out the facsimile number. Otherwise information of a name, etc., is made to be included in the area enclosed by the user and a database where the facsimile number is stored is accessed.
