PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bolt and nut which can be used widely for rectilinear driving of a plurality of articles, positioning of the plurality of articles and the others, and quickly performing rectilinear driving of articles and positioning of the articles and the others. SOLUTION: This bolt and nut are formed by a bolt 1, a right handed screw type nut 2 screw-engaged with the bolt 1 and (or) a left handed screw type nut 3. The bolt 1 is provided with a right handed screw spiral groove 11 and a left handed screw spiral groove 12 for ball fitting and rolling formed on the same peripheral surface, and the nut 2 and the nut 3 are provided with ball holding cases 21, 31 externally screw-engaged with the bolt 1 to be relatively rotated and rotatable outer cases 22, 32 externally fitted to the ball holding cases. The ball holding cases 21, 31 have a plurality of balls 212, 312 rotatably fitted to ball fitting holes 211, 311 spirally disposed at designated spaces corresponding to the spiral groove 11 or 12 of the bolt 1 with portions thereof fitted to the spiral groove to relatively roll.
